PROBLEM

This family owned pasta company was in need of capacity to serve increasing market demand.

Desired alternatives to increasing capacity over expanding their production and warehouse distribution facilities

APPROACH

Perform a process and order fulfillment analysis to understand optimization methods across the production and distribution warehouse operations.  From this analysis an alternative operating strategy was formulated in conjunction with some specific production and warehouse productivity initiatives.

SOLUTION

Rebalanced the pasta formulation and production machine processes with oven baking work schedules.  Updated facilities and work balance in the packaging process to accommodate the increased output from pasta formulation and baking upstream production.  Established a third party logistics warehouse facility that could synchronize production inventories with customer order shipment.
